Connected programs

You can let a program work with your area on your behalf — an AI assistant that looks up how many animals are registered, or files an invoice into your knowledge base.

This is voluntary. Without your permission no program reaches your data.

What the screen is asking

When a program wants access, you see:

  • the name it gave itself — marked “not verified”. We do not check that name. A program may call itself anything, so recognise it by the fact that you just connected it, not by the name alone
  • where it sends you back to — the address your permission is delivered to
  • every single permission in plain words. Anything that writes is marked separately

Allow only what the program actually needs: an assistant meant to answer questions does not need write access to your knowledge base.

The screen appears every time

Even for a program you have connected before. We remember the permission only so you can take it away again — never to stop asking you next time.

Disconnecting

Settings → Connected programs → Disconnect.

This takes effect immediately, on the program’s very next request. Not in fifteen minutes, not when some key expires. If you suspect something is wrong, disconnecting is both the right answer and the fast one.

Disconnected entries stay in the list marked “Disconnected”, so you can still see what was once connected.

What a program can never do

  • Look into someone else’s area. A token is for your area and only yours
  • Skip your consent. There is no way past the screen
  • Give itself more permissions. What it may do is what you allowed
  • Connect other programs. Even a program with every permission cannot attach another service to your business — that stays your decision, see Connected services

What you can see

Questions a program asks on your behalf land in your chat history, marked as coming from a program. Documents a program uploads are marked in your sources the same way. So you can see afterwards what happened in your name.
