How do events from a calendar file get into Jobs?
This behaviour is changing. As of: 2026-09-29. Current commercial details: uely.ch/preise.
Export your calendar as an .ics file and upload it under Training → Sources. Every
event becomes a job in the Agenda, as with a connected Google Calendar. When you later
upload a newer export, moved events move along, cancelled ones leave the Agenda, and
whatever is already there does not arrive a second time.
- Export the calendar as
.ics. In Apple Calendar on the Mac: select the calendar on the left, File → Export → Export. In Outlook for Windows: File → Save Calendar. Other programs usually call it «Export» or «iCalendar». - Open Training and upload the file under Sources.
- The events then sit under Jobs.
What you need to know
Section titled “What you need to know”Past events arrive as done. Cancelled events do not arrive. An all-day event counts for the calendar day in Switzerland, so a week of holidays runs from the first to the last day off.
A series becomes a recurring job when it runs at a fixed step from its first event: every day, every week on the same weekday, every month on the same day, every year. A series with another pattern is not taken over, for example every two weeks, Monday and Thursday, or the last Friday of the month. Create it on Jobs or in the chat. A series that has already ended does not arrive. The end date of a running series is not on the job; you end it yourself. A single moved occurrence of a series arrives as a job of its own, and the series stays.
A newer export recognises each event by the identifier the calendar program stores with it. If you edited or moved the job in Uely, your change stays. An event you deleted in the calendar is simply missing from the export; its job stays until you clear it in the Agenda.
The file is a snapshot. New events come with the next export. Reading it uses no usage. The jobs are private until you invite someone or list a job publicly.
If something goes wrong
Section titled “If something goes wrong”If an event is missing, it is cancelled in the calendar or a series with a pattern Uely does not take over.
If no event arrives at all, the file is not a calendar export. An .ics file starts with
the line BEGIN:VCALENDAR. Uely reads any other file with that ending as an ordinary
document.
Questions
Section titled “Questions”Do I need Google Calendar for this?
Section titled “Do I need Google Calendar for this?”No. Any calendar program that exports an .ics file will do. You can also connect Google
Calendar permanently; then new events arrive without an export.
What happens if I upload the same file twice?
Section titled “What happens if I upload the same file twice?”Nothing. Training recognises the file as already there. A newer export does not create an event a second time either.
